H2O PILL !!!!

Water is one of the most important resources we have. Safe drinking water is essential to humans and other life forms. Access to safe drinking water has improved over the last decades in almost every part of the world, but approximately one billion people still lack access to safe water and over 2.5 billion lack accesses to adequate sanitation. There is a clear correlation between access to safe water and GDP per capita. However, some observers have estimated that by 2025 more than half of the world population will be facing water-based vulnerability. A recent report (November 2009) suggests that by 2030, in some developing regions of the world, water demand will exceed supply by 50%.Water plays an important role in the world economy, as it functions as a solvent for a wide variety of chemical substances and facilitates industrial cooling and transportation. Approximately 70% of the fresh water used by humans goes to agriculture.
We know that we would have a big problem on the future so I think that people must try a new product that would be a great way to preserve” in a certain way” water. Is a little pill composed by chemicals (oxygen , hydrogen, and others) that can make the pill solid and at the time you drink it  all the chemicals would be free in your organism hydrating you a 60%. This can be used by poor people that have nothing to eat or drink, and this pill can help them to reestablish their health. Is a new product that can save many people. The problem is that the people don´t take care of the planet and if much time passes it would be too late to help the world against that. My idea is necessary because offers a guarantee of satisfying all the necessities of people and at the same time make something for our own world. I see people necessities and also I really want to make sustainable products like over technologies to take care of the environment that in fact is one of the biggest problems the world has.

Ray Arthur Kroc: McDonald Fast Food Restaurant Entrepreneur

He was the mastermind behind the worldwide McDonald's fast food franchise. He bought the fledgling restaurant chain in 1955 and grew it into the largest, most influential fast food chain in the world.
Ray Kroc was born on October 5, 1902 to Czech-Americans in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of four, Kroc's father took him to phrenologist, a person who determines fate based on the shape of someone's skull. The Phrenologist told young Ray Kroc that he would someday work in food service. But, as the First World War erupted, Kroc became interested in learning how to drive ambulances for the war effort instead. The war, however, ended before he had a chance to test his training and Kroc looked elsewhere for employment.
During the late 1950s, Kroc tried his hand at selling paper cups and even worked as a pianist for a short period of time before settling into a position as a milkshake machine salesman. He traveled around the country and sold milkshake machines to various different cafes and restaurants, all the while observing the layout and management of the industry. Kroc was convinced that many restaurants suffered from poor management and were not living up to their potential. It was during this time that he ran across a small hamburger restaurant in San Bernardino, California named McDonald's.
The restaurant, owned by the McDonald brothers, Richard and Maurice, ran eight of the same milkshake machines sold by the fifty-two year old Kroc. Since each machine could spin five milkshakes at once, Kroc was intrigued by the idea of a restaurant that needed the ability to make forty milkshakes at a time. He traveled to California and, upon seeing the orderly, efficient restaurant that served a huge community; Ray Kroc was convinced he could sell the machines to every McDonald store that opened.
In order to capitalize on the venture, Kroc approached the brothers with a business plan and they eventually settled on a deal. As a result of the partnership, however, Kroc would receive only 1.4% of the franchisees' profit, giving 0.5% to the brothers. It didn't take very long for Kroc to realize that his profit would be minimal. So, in order to gain access to more of his investment, Ray Kroc convinced the brothers to sell him the rights to the McDonald's name.
Kroc envisioned a restaurant that ran like a factory and produced hot food, fast service, and with consistent quality no matter where he opened a restaurant. He saw food preparation as a process and broke it down into steps that could be duplicated in any of his restaurants. This way he could keep the product the same no matter where the McDonald's was located.
Low franchise fees made it easy to open new stores but cut into any potential profits for Kroc. As a result, Kroc decided to purchase the land on which McDonald's would open and ultimately serve as a landlord. He set up the Franchise Realty Corporation in 1956 and was able to purchase tracts of land in order to help him produce a profit for his company. By 1960 there were over 200 McDonald's around the United States.
Kroc saw his franchise as a way to sell as service, not food. After all, Big Boy, Dairy Queen, and A&W were already established restaurant chains. Ray Kroc needed McDonald's to stand out. Consistency was the key and he made sure that every McDonald's ran the same. He established national advertising campaigns to support his restaurants and took the brand international in 1971 to Japan and Germany.
Ray Kroc died on January 14, 1984 of old age. At the time he was worth an estimated $500 million.

Heels or flats?

Have you ever got tired of wearing heels all night?
This unique shoe can become either heels or flats wherever, whenever you want!
I personally don’t like to use heels but I wear them for fashion, but this new shoe is completely comfortable because the sole of the shoe is made with soft material, the heels is very strong and this is useful at the time when you want to take your heel off, you are left with the soft sole and you can walk completely fine since it takes the form of a flat shoe.
We are creating this new shoe for people to feel confortable and safe while wearing it. You can use them also for fashion since the heels are sold separately for you to choose the style, color, form, etc.  This is an original and creative shoe that’s never seen before
Considering the disadvantages is that by taking off the heel you will have to carry it, but the good thing is that is not heavy at all and you can easily carry it on you bag since it does not occupy a lot of space.
Parts that compose this shoe:
-The toe of the shoe (or the front part for the fingers) can be made rounded or pointy by the design.
-The upper part of the shoe
- The sole is composed of two parts, the outside part and the inside part, both parts are made with soft materials
-The heel is the lower and back part of the shoe, this heel can be removed without damaging the shoe and it can be placed back on.

 by: Jimena Pérez

Imagine this situation, when you are in vacation in Colorado, the temperature start to decrease until it reaches the -10 ºC. the place starts to freezing. For you be warm, you start to wear jackets and a lot of socks because the feet are the coldest part of my body. But, the socks weren’t sufficient because you still have cold. In that moment you think that it could be good idea to have something to warm you because you want to keep having fun. One day I have something similar to this situation and I get the idea of why there not exists a pair of shoes with heating that keep you feet warm.
I was thinking and I notice that the people, that lives in part with lowest, need something to pass the winter that maintain their bodies warm. Something that can be easy to wear and that it aren’t to heavy like a jacket. The main objective is to make confortable shoes that help people to take out the cold not only of you feet also of you entire body, and by keeping you warm will also help you to avoid getting sick. The advantages of this product are that went you wear these shoes you will not have cold, because their fit with the temperature of the outside and warm to a specific temperature that it is no to hot but also no to cold. Another advantage is that you would be warm without using ample and heavy jacket. The disadvantage is that it can be decomposed if you step in water of something liquid that affect the system of the shoes. In the market, there exists something similar to my product like hosiery that can heat the body but it isn’t enough also that this are uncomfortable. Another product is the template but this need to be connected to the electricity. It is why the heatshoes is the better idea to maintain you warm in the coldest day, because are confortable and you don’t need to connect to the electricity. These shoes have cell that are activate went you put it in and make warm waves all the time to maintain you with out cold. This cells are padded to you be confortable. They exist in different models!

Remember! These shoes ensure you comfort and fashion at the same time warmth when you more need it. Try them!

“Instant Sunglasses”, innovative, cool, practical and easy reach for everyone.

By: Edith Elizondo A01139723

As a girl, I’m always trying to look for ways to save space, have easy access to my stuff and being cool and in fashion with my friends, and by this exact idea I came up with Instant Sunglasses, a product that people would mostly enjoy for its practicity, efficiency and commodity. The idea of “Instant Sunglasses” is to have a pair of eye contacts that, apart from giving a clearer vision, would also serve as sunglasses when sunlight reaches directly to the people’s eyes. There would be a variation of color tonalities and sizes, in which individually, people could choose which pair of “Instants Sunglasses” fits them better. During the past years, I noticed that people always have lots of stuff to worry about, and regular sunglasses where always a factor that was present in this. People were getting tired of always having so many things in their purses or cars because they were not only easy to find, but they were also a distraction and difficult to reach. Having this in mind, I decided people needed a little help with organization and because of this the idea of by “Instant Sunglasses” was created. This product has as a goal to make people lives easier and simpler, more technological and innovative, lowering distractions and having the maximum commodity possible.
As every idea created, this product counts with a series of advantages and disadvantages that are going to be enlisted in the following sentences. One of the disadvantages that “Instant Sunglasses” might have, is that people will not need to buy anymore regular sunglasses, leaving them with no fashion accessories to mach them with their clothes. Another possible disadvantage is that these eye contacts would not be permanent, having an average life of six months because the sun rays would eventually harm the lens, therefore the client would need to buy another pair. But in the other hand “Instant Sunglasses” has as an advantage that they’re really practical for the daily use and they are comfortable. They would also be considered as a non-expensive product due to its disposable use.
“Instant Sunglasses” are different from other products because these pair of contact lenses are made for several uses. Having so many uses makes them practical for the community, attractive, and unique in a way that people would like to buy them due to it high efficiency to quotidian life. The product would be made in a way that everyone could use them.  By this, I’m talking that either kids or people from the third age would be able to enjoy from the commodities that “Instant Sunglasses” bring.
They say that a good product sell by itself, and I think that “Instant Sunglasses” can get as popular as it wants, bringing commodity and focus to people, assuring them to protect their eyes from the sun and distractions.

Alternatives to embark on a project

In the actuality, there exist several areas of opportunity that people can take advantage depending of the circumstances and/or situation. Opportunity is defined as “A favorable or suitable occasion or time.”, and what an area of opportunity means is that when you get a job, there are usually several areas of opportunity in which you can take part of depending on your knowledge in that topic. In other words, it’s when an industry classifies each person into units or groups within each area. In class we learned about 14 possible areas of opportunity, bit in this text we are going to talk about just 3, that are the ones that best fit our project.
Industrial:
Within the past years, we have come to learn that an industry refers to the production of goods and services in an economy. There are four key industrial economic sectors, primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary each of them with its own goal for making the final product possible.  An economy can separated into two broad parts, including the public and the private sector, but the industrial area is generally in the private one classified on the basis of raw materials, size, and ownership. “Nike” and “Levi’s” are two big companies that come to be a big part of the industry of the country. “Nike” is the world's leading supplier of sportswear and equipment in the United States. Founded in 1964, “Nike” is the responsible of giving more than 30,000 people jobs worldwide and sponsoring many high profile athletes and sport teams around the world. In the other hand, “Levi’s” brand is a clothing company known worldwide for its denim jeans now being the owner of more than 63 plants in the United States. Even though the company faced a globally known recession in past years, now the industry is stable employing more than 10,500 people in the world.
Technological:
Living in the 21 century, the world has been witness of a series of technological improvements that change the world as we had seen it in the past decades. Technology is defined as any application of science to accomplish a function in a specific area and it can be divided into two broad areas including both material and immaterial, created by the application of mental and physical effort in order to achieve some value.  Technology can also be used to refer a collection of techniques in which humanity's knowledge on combining resources produce desired products, solve problems, fulfill needs, or satisfy wants, including technical methods, skills, processes, tools and raw materials. Two examples of companies that apply technology into its products are “Devlyn Optical” and “Ray-Ban” (sunglasses). The “Devlyn Optical” is a network of centers devoted to the care and eye care, offering free testing and manufacturing the lens appropriate to each situation. It’s known for providing a wide selection of frames, prescription lenses and sunglasses all at low princes evidenced by the millions of customers that “Devlyn” serve each year. “Ray-Ban” is an American high end manufacturer of sunglasses founded in 1937 that is worth for $640 million dollars. They have created a number of lenses for each of their glasses being equipped with their own form of technology to suit every life style.
Social:
When it comes to a market, society comes to make a big part of the consumption and to the success of the product. Based on what society demands, companies focus its interests and ideas to satisfy this necessities or wants, and this way people are conformed with the market. Companies need to focus its innovation on what society is more interested on, and price, appearance and popularity are big factors that make up this area of opportunity. “Centrum” (vitamins) and “Quitakilos” (nutrition center) are both important business that focus their products/services on what society is more tended to. “Centrum” had been made to balance the daily diet of vitamins and minerals when there’s an inadequate intake through food or cases that require additional input. Furthermore, It is indicated for children over 8 years and adults, including people in stressful situations and / or overwork, athletes, adolescents and young people undergoing weight loss diets. “Quitakilos” it’s also another medium-sized company that began in 1975 in Monterrey, which focus its services and products on the health of each patient. Always supervised by professionals, “Quitakilos” goal is to help people achieve their ideal weight healthily in a way that customer loom and feel good.
In conclusion, in this article we have reflected over three of the fourteen areas of opportunity reviewed in class. It’s very important to know each one of them and be able to apply our knowledge into the products we are focusing in. The more we focus on the necessities of society, the bigger the success the product is going to have, innovating on new technologies will make the invention grow making this way that the industry reaches its maximum profit on the market.
